About the Society

Wymondham Art Society was formed over forty years ago to bring together local people with a shared interest in the visual arts in all mediums. The society has grown to over seventy members, including many talented and accomplished leisure painters as well as several well-regarded professional artists.

We meet on the first Wednesday of each month with the exception of January and meetings are very well attended (40-50). Our members are knowledgeable and lively and appreciate our varied and entertaining programme of demonstrations or lectures by professional artists, art educators or tutors..

Meetings are held at the Roman Catholic Church Hall, 1 Norwich Road, Wymondham, Norfolk, NR18 0QE. There is ample parking outside the hall. Meetings commence at 7.15 pm with notices from the Chair, followed by the evening's programme.

The membership subscription from 1st April 2022 is £30 for the year, with a charge of £5 for guests or visitors. Many people come as guests for the first time; most stay on as valued long term members.

Each month, members may if they wish submit a painting for our table top competition. Winners are decided by members' secret ballot and the first three win a small prize.

Some Plein Air painting sessions for Members may be arranged. A wonderful technical challenge as well as great social get together.

Our Annual Exhibition is open to all fully paid-up members. Any member may hang up to 3 framed pictures for sale; hanging fee is £5 per picture plus 10% commission on sales during the Summer - dates can vary - at the Wymondham Arts Centre, Beckets Chapel, Church Street, Wymondham NR18 0PH.

To join the Society and for more details please contact the secretary by email using the form on the next page or come along to one of our meetings.

New members and visitors are always very welcome.
